BambooHR
The BambooHR block connects your workflows to BambooHR — read and manage employee records, handle time-off requests, pull the company directory, and run custom reports.
HR Automation: Pair this action block with the BambooHR Trigger — the trigger starts a workflow when something changes in BambooHR, and this block reads or updates HR data in response.

- Time Off: Read time-off requests and create new ones

Connecting your BambooHR account
- Log in to BambooHR, click your profile photo, and choose API Keys.
- Click Add New Key, name it, and copy the generated key.
- Note your subdomain — it's the first part of your BambooHR URL: for
https://acme.bamboohr.com, the subdomain isacme. - In Indite, add the BambooHR block, click Connect new, and enter the API Key and Subdomain.
⚠️
The API key inherits the permissions of the user who created it. Use an account that can see the employees and fields your workflow needs — but no more than that.
Output
The block returns the raw BambooHR API response — employee objects, directory entries, time-off requests, or report rows. Reference fields in later blocks with {{<blockId>.<field>}}.
Example: new-hire onboarding
- Webhook Trigger — your recruiting tool calls the workflow when a candidate signs.
- BambooHR → Create Employee — first name, last name, work email, department, and job title from the trigger payload.
- Slack — announce the new teammate in
#general. - Send Email — send the new hire their first-day checklist.
