Connecting Mailchimp
- In Mailchimp, click your profile icon → Account & billing → Extras → API keys.
- Click Create A Key and copy it.
- Find your Server Prefix — it is the part after the dash in your API key (e.g. key ending in
-us1means prefixus1), and also appears in your dashboard URL (us1.admin.mailchimp.com). - In the Mailchimp block settings, add a new connection and enter the API Key and Server Prefix.
- Save and select the credential in the block.
⚠️
A wrong server prefix is the most common connection error — the block calls https://<prefix>.api.mailchimp.com, so us1 vs us21 matters.
Output
The Mailchimp API response is stored as the block's output. Reference fields downstream with {{blockId.field}} — for example {{blockId.id}} for a new subscriber or campaign, or {{blockId.lists}} from Get Lists.
Example: Newsletter signup from a bot
- WhatsApp Trigger — a customer messages your business.
- Condition — the customer agreed to receive the newsletter.
- Mailchimp (Add Subscriber) — adds their email to the "Newsletter" audience with status
subscribedand first name from the chat. - Mailchimp (Add Tag) — tags them
whatsapp-signupfor segmentation.
