To integrate your bot with WhatsApp, you need to create a Meta app linked to a Facebook Business account. This guide provides step-by-step instructions to set up your Meta app and connect it to your bot.
Step 1: Create a Facebook Business Account
- Visit https://business.facebook.com (opens in a new tab) and log in with your Facebook account.
- In the left sidebar, click Create Business Account and follow the prompts to set up your account.

Newly created Business accounts may be restricted by Meta. If this occurs, verify your identity as prompted to unlock full account functionality.
Step 2: Create a Meta App
- Navigate to https://developers.facebook.com/apps (opens in a new tab).
- Click Create App.
- In the prompt "What do you want your app to do?", select Other.
- Choose Business as the app type.
- Enter a name for your app and select your newly created Business Account from the dropdown.
- On the app’s dashboard, locate the WhatsApp product and click Set Up to enable it.
Ensure you have administrative access to the Business Account to create and manage the Meta app.
Step 3: Connect Your Meta App to Your Bot
- Go to the Share tab in your bot’s Indite dashboard.
- Select the WhatsApp integration option.
- Follow the provided instructions to link your Meta app to your bot, including entering your app’s credentials (e.g., App ID and App Secret).
The Share tab provides specific configuration details, such as the WhatsApp phone number and API tokens, to complete the integration.
